When you’re taking your first steps into the world of crypto-currency, it can be handy to get some smartphone apps that allow for efficient, mobile management of your funds.
Indeed, you can’t always afford to be on the computer all day long, and that’s the great thing about mobile apps: they allow you to manage everything remotely, via your smartphone, anywhere, anytime!
Today, we’re going to recommend you some applications, classified by functionalities, so that you can choose the one that will be the most useful, depending on what you want to do with it. These applications are all available on Android and iOS.
Wallet applications
They allow you to manage your crypto-currency wallet and are hots wallets. The most famous ones are the following:
Ledger Live
The official application of the French giant Ledger which provides the most used hardware wallets on the market.
This application allows you to manage your wallet on your mobile and connects to your Ledger Nano X.
Jaxx
With this app, you own your wallet with your own private keys, and this wallet is compatible with several different crypto-currencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum. Thus, you are completely free to operate and manage your funds. On the security side, Jaxx has a few trumps, thanks in particular to its recovery phrase system (of 12 words!) to restore your wallet. However, you are the only real guarantor of the security of your funds (as always with cryptos), and it’s up to you to pay close attention to it.
Mycelium
With the Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet, you can send and receive Bitcoins using your cell phone. The unparalleled “cold storage” feature allows you to keep your funds 100% secure until you’re ready to spend them.
Coinomi
Take absolute control of your money and security today with the Coinomi app. Bitcoin, Ethereum and an impressive number of altcoins are available here! Carry your coins safely with this cross-chain compatible mobile hybrid wallet.
Freewallet
This app is perfect if you need to store small amounts of virtual currencies. You’ll be able to own several wallets with different crypto-currencies, and the majority of them will be stored offline, in a safe. Quite safe, then! An all-in-one version (in beta) is even available to group all the wallets of all the crypto-currencies available on the site (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bytecoin, Zcash, Monero, Bancor, XDN, Ardor, Steem, Dash, FantomCoin, Tether, Dogecoin, Lisk…)
Coinbase
This is simply the application of the Coinbase website. According to users, it works better than the site in times of falling Bitcoin prices or high traffic. It will allow you to buy, sell, and trade Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and Ethereum, all in a secure manner. It’s also a way to simply get some crypto-currencies with your credit card.
Cryptonator
This is a very practical application that will allow you to have your different crypto-currencies in your associated wallets. More than a dozen virtual currencies available, and many possibilities: storage, sending and receiving funds. Very positive point, you can also make instant exchanges between the different crypto-currencies in your wallets.
Bitcoin wallet from Blockchain.info
This is an application that allows you to have a wallet and send and receive Bitcoins, but also to view transactions on the Bitcoin network. You can also install a PIN code when opening the application, and secure your crypto-currencies with a “Recovery Phrase”.
TabTrader
This is an application that allows you to have a wallet and send and receive Bitcoins, but also to view transactions on the Bitcoin network. You can also install a PIN code when opening the application, and secure your crypto-currencies with a “Recovery Phrase”.
Trackers
This kind of application allows you to consult in real time the price of crypto-currencies on the different exchange platforms.
The main strength lies in the system of notifications and alerts set up by the majority of these mobile applications, so that you don’t miss anything about the variations of the price of your favorite currencies! Most of them also allow you to follow the status of your portfolio in real time.
Blockfolio
As it is a tracker and as the name suggests, this application tracks the prices of investments and sets up price alerts. By only indicating the number of crypto-currencies you own, the app lists very useful information on a daily basis: your total balance, buy and sell orders, evolution graphs and many others. In short, it is a very good alternative to follow the evolution of your various portfolios.
Coinstats
Coinstats is an excellent application that allows you to monitor cryptocurrency prices and is also a wallet.
The free version allows you to track the top 100 currencies on the market but has some limitations. The paid version is more complete and allows you to track all the currencies on the market, set up alerts, create a list of favorite coins and automatically track your assets on different exchanges!
Coincap (Coinmarketcap.io)
This is a relatively simple price tracking application, but it serves its purpose. It’s not as handy and detailed as the ones I’ve shown you above, but it can help you out without a problem. This is the official application of the Coinmarketcap.io website which is not bad when you start, but is quite limited for more advanced users…Beware that the charts are very “basic” and the prices are not always updated in real time!
Delta
Delta is an ultimate e-currency wallet tracking tool available on iOS and Android. Manage all your currencies from this App, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and over 2000 other alts.
Ztrader
This is a slightly similar app to Blockfolio, used by a lot of investors. It allows you to track your investments, view the price of different currencies, as well as interesting and very well detailed charts.
Crypto calc
With Crypto Calc, you have at your disposal the price of about 50 different currencies, in Bitcoin and in your usual fiat currency (euros, in our case, but it can be the one of your choice). You can also follow the exchange rates between fiat currencies. It’s a very easy to use app and useful to get real-time information about prices and to make conversions.
Bitcoin Price Widget
With this application, you can install widgets directly on your homepage. This will allow you to follow the price of the currency of your choice at any time, just by clicking on the widget. Moreover, you will also be able to view charts. The app offers a wide variety of crypto-currencies, including Litecoin.
For traders
These applications will allow you to trade and exchange crypto-currencies, and of course manage your existing portfolios.
Tradingview
The official application of tradingview.com that allows you to share your analysis and discover those of many professional traders! The best in the industry.
Binance
The official application of the Binance trading platform. A good application to view the different markets available on Binance and to connect to your own account!
Tabtrader
I’ve already presented it to you in more detail a little earlier in this article. This application allows you to trade on a lot of different exchange platforms, including Kraken, Coinbase (GDAX), Bitstamp, ANXPRO, HitBtc, BTC-E, BTCChina, Huobi, ItBit, Bitbay, Bter, Bitfinex, Bitmarket, Gatecoin, Bleutrade, QUOINE, Bittrex, BL3P (Bitonic), Poloniex, EXMO, Gemini, Vaultoro, Mercado Bitcoin.
Bitfinex and CEX.io
These are the applications of the exchange sites bearing the same name. You will find the main features of these sites.
My Bittrex Wallet
This application, linked to Bittrex, simply allows you to consult and manage your Bittrex wallet at any time on your smartphone, wherever you are.
CoinMarketCal
Application to find upcoming crypto announcements and events. Numerous search options that prove to be very handy to anticipate possible increases related to the activity and updates of certain projects!
CoinMap
The function of this application? To allow you, anywhere in the world, to know all the places accepting Bitcoins. Very practical!
Icoalert / IcoAlarm
This application allows you to be warned of new ICO releases, (ICO stands for Initial Coin Offering, which is a system of participatory financing for the development of a new crypto-currency or a new Blockchain project). So you will be notified of any news related to Ico, as well as all ICOs still in progress.
I hope I’ve given you a pretty complete overview of the range of applications available for managing your crypto-currencies in 2021 and beyond.
Of course, it’s impossible to list them all as there are a lot of them out there right now, but this should help you, depending on your needs, to find the application that suits you perfectly and that you won’t be able to live without!
