Youthall announced the ‘Future Workforce Demand Survey Report’, which was prepared with the participation of young people who are just at the beginning of their careers and business professionals, who are preparing to draw their career path during the university preference period. A total of 543 people, including university students between the ages of 18-30, new graduates who are at the beginning of their careers, and professionals from the business world, participated in the research. 24.1% of the respondents were employees, and 75.7 percent were university students and graduates who are not currently working in any job.

The survey also determines which competencies will emerge in the business world in the future. According to 72 percent of the professionals surveyed, “creativity and innovation” will be the most important competency choice in the business world in the future. Other competencies that will be prioritized in the business world are “problem solving/decision making ability”, “adaptation/adaptation to change” and “critical thinking/analysis”.
Young people are worried about the future of their profession
In the study, young people’s perspectives on the future of their profession were also examined. More than a third of the youth surveyed (38.4 percent) are concerned about their future careers. The rate of those who are not worried about their future is 34.3 percent, while the rate of those who are undecided remains at 27.3 percent.

According to the answers given by the business professionals who participated in the survey, “printing and publishing” is one of the professions that will lose their existence in today’s rapidly developing environment. While 18.2 percent think that the existence of the “printing and publishing” field will decrease, 16 percent agree that with the change in our consumption and shopping habits, developing technology will eliminate employment in the “sales” field. 15.2 percent predict that the presence of the “Manufacturing and production” field will decrease with the increase in the use of automation and robotic systems in the industry and manufacturing sector.

The business world cares about operational and managerial competencies
The survey also identified the areas that are most needed in recruitment this year, from the perspective of the business world. According to the answers given; 34.8 percent of the participants state that there is a need for an “operation & management” area. 28 percent say that they are looking for a workforce in the fields of “marketing” and “digital marketing”, 25 percent in “sales”, and 24.2 percent in “big data and business analytics”. These rates indicate that the business world still attaches great importance to operational and managerial competencies. In addition, while the need in marketing and sales fields draws attention, it reveals that today employers are especially interested in qualified candidates in these fields and the demand for these positions is high.
